Every Shinnoki floor is provided with 8 coats of UV-cured water based lacquer. A varnish finish requires less maintenance and provides better long-term protection. The varnish layer completely seals the pores of the wood. This provides a low-maintenance floor and optimal protection against wear, scratching and stains. The core is constructed of thin layers of birch wood that are bonded to each other crosswise with waterproof adhesive to form a strong foundation with optimal properties. This leads to an exceptionally dimensionally-stable core that also conducts heat very well, making a birch plywood core ideal to be installed with underfloor heating.

The size of the space determines the size of the boards. For smaller spaces, it is best to choose narrow, short boards. In large spaces, broad, long boards come more into their own. The orientation of the boards also has an effect. Long boards installed along the length of a room make the room look even longer. We offer Shinnoki flooring in 2 board sizes. Base your choice on the size and shape of the room. For larger areas, the best choice is Designer, a long, wide board. For smaller rooms we recommend Elite, a more narrow board. These automatically make the room look bigger.
