Shinnoki Makes Millwork Easy
Pieterjan Desmont inventor of Shinnoki visited NY this week from Belgium to present his new collection of prefinished wood panels and flooring.
The collection received rave reviews from Genna Wiener at WASA and LeeAnne Rickey at Perkins Eastman among others.
This Millwork- made easy panel product is the perfect real wood upgrade from oh-so boring melamine or laminate panels yet offers excellent value and availability over custom cabinetry.
“Shinnoki offers a great cross between laminate and real veneer but we love the colors and finish most off all ” says LeeAnne Rickey when describing why she specified Shinnoki for the BBC Headquarters here in NY.
Genna Weiner sees the cost benefits of the product when considering that its stocked locally and ready for install at under $250 per 4′x9′ sheet. “We’re always looking for innovative new products that are also affordable. I cant wait to spec Shinnoki on my next project”.

Emerging Materials Seminar at Ted Moudis Associates
I managed to steal Nichole Moudis and Lillian Kim for a few minutes after my big Lunch and Learn Seminar to today at Ted Moudis Associates. Moudis is still focusing primarily on contract work these days with a secondary interest in Retail. The best news is that they are SUPER busy, LOOKING and HIRING so to all of you talented designers and architects out there I recommend getting your books in.
Lillian Kim who is a Senior Designer has only been at the firm for less than a year but agrees that there is a lot of great talent and energy at the office right now. Lillian was very drawn to our BRUSH Tile. In fact we didn’t even mind when she tried to use it to whisk off something on her foot!.
The group seemed to be particularly inspired by our graphic imagery in glass as well as our sumptuous Heirloom flooring collection. Other selections from the hour long presentation included our new Shinnoki Millworking material and Texaa Acoustical System which satisfies a big need in Noisy NYC these days.
All in all it was a great day at Ted Moudis with over 30 attendees and lots of great questions and feedback.
We hope to be back again very soon and really appreciated the opportunity to engage with such a great office.
